New Delhi, 03 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his heartfelt greetings to devotees across India and abroad on the commencement of the annual Amarnath Yatra. He expressed hope that the sacred pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani would bring happiness, prosperity, good fortune and good health to all pilgrims.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, Heartiest greetings to all devotees of Lord Shiva on the auspicious commencement of the sacred Shri Amarnath Yatra. May this holy pilgrimage to seek the divine blessings of Baba Barfani bring happiness, prosperity, good fortune and good health into your lives. Jai Baba Barfani.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi also shared a Sanskrit verse praising Lord Amarnath:

Vāgbuddhi-cittakaraṇaiśca tapobhirugraiḥ

Śakyaṁ samākalayituṁ na yadīya-rūpam।

Taṁ bhakti-bhāva-sulabhaṁ śaraṇaṁ natānāṁ

Nityaṁ bhajāmy Amarānātham ahaṁ dayālum॥

Explaining the verse, the Prime Minister said that the true form of Lord Amarnath cannot be fully comprehended through speech, intellect, the mind or even the most rigorous penance. The Lord is accessible only to those who approach Him with sincere devotion, humility and complete surrender. He added that seeking refuge in the compassionate Lord Amarnath and remembering Him with unwavering faith is the greatest blessing for every devotee.
