New Delhi, 28 July (H.S.): Members of Parliament from Assam met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday and briefed him on the prevailing flood situation in different parts of the state.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said, “Met Members of Parliament from Assam today and discussed the prevailing flood situation in different parts of the state. The Central Government is working closely with the Assam Government to assist the affected people. I pray for the safety and well-being of everyone.”

The Prime Minister reiterated that the Centre is extending all possible support to the Assam Government in its relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Notably, relentless heavy rainfall over the past several days has caused widespread devastation across the northeastern region. Flooding has displaced numerous families, severely disrupting normal life in many areas.

District administrations, along with teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Indian Army, and the Indian Air Force, are continuing rescue, relief, and monitoring operations in the affected regions.
