New Delhi, 27 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and several other leaders on Monday congratulated Indian weightlifter Raja Muthupandi for winning the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026.

Congratulating Raja Muthupandi for securing the silver medal in the men's 65kg weightlifting category at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X, His achievement has made every Indian happy and proud. My best wishes for his future endeavours.

Amit Shah also congratulated Muthupandi for winning the silver medal in the men's 65kg category at the Commonwealth Games, saying, You have enhanced the pride of our Tricolour. May you always emerge victorious.

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya described the achievement as a proud moment for Indian weightlifting. He congratulated Raja Muthupandi for winning the silver medal in the men's 65kg weightlifting event.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the remarkable performance was the result of Muthupandi's discipline, perseverance and unwavering dedication. He added that the entire nation was celebrating the athlete's achievement and wished him greater success in his future endeavours.

It is noteworthy that Muthupandi delivered an impressive performance at the Commonwealth Games by winning the silver medal in the men's 65kg weightlifting category. In the event held on Saturday, he lifted a total of 286kg to finish second, securing India's second silver medal of the Games.
