Bhubaneswar, 27 July (H.S.): The Higher Education Department Odisha has released the official notification for admission into postgraduate (PG) courses for the academic session 2026–27. Admissions will be conducted based on marks obtained in the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET).
As per the schedule, students can complete the choice locking process through the SAMS Odisha Portal from 3:00 PM on July 27 to 11:45 PM on August 2, selecting their preferred higher education institutions.
The first merit list will be published on August 7 at 4:00 PM. Candidates selected in the first round can exercise the ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’, or ‘Float’ options on the portal between 6:00 PM on August 7 and 4:00 PM on August 11.
The second merit list is scheduled to be released on August 17 at 4:00 PM. Classes for first-year postgraduate students across higher education institutions in the state will commence from August 21.
According to official data, a total of 32,531 PG seats are available across 135 higher education institutions under the department for the 2026–27 academic year.
