
Jammu, 27 July (H.S.): An 85-year-old retired Naib Tehsildar was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Kaua Nallah, near Kaua Naka in the Ramnagar area.
The deceased has been identified as Amar Nath (85), son of Santu resident of village Basantghar, at present Ward number 7, Ramnagar.
On getting information, SHO Ramnagar, Parshotam Kumar rushed to the spot with a Police team and shifted the body to hospital for post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered in this connection for investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death. As per Police, the circumstantial evidences hint that it was an apparent case of suicide.
According to family members, Amar Nath had left his residence early in the morning without informing anyone. When he did not return for several hours, his family began searching for him. Initially, they assumed he had gone to fetch water from the nearby hand pump, as was part of his routine. However, growing concern over his prolonged absence prompted an extensive search.
During the search, local residents informed the family that Amar Nath had been seen heading towards the Ramnagar bus stand. On reaching the bus stand, they were told that he had boarded the first bus from Ramnagar to Udhampur.
Shortly afterwards, the family received information that his body had been found at Nallah (Kaua Nallah), near Kaua Naka. The incident has left the family in deep shock.
According to relatives of the deceased, nearly ten years ago, the body of Amar Nath’s son was also recovered from the same location, making the present tragedy even more distressing.
