
Guwahati, 27 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, during a Facebook Live, announced that 100 primary schools in the flood-affected districts of Charaideo and Sivasagar will receive financial assistance of ₹2 lakh each.
The Chief Minister said the grants will be used to improve school infrastructure, support students' education and provide uniforms. He added that the funds have been made available through a ₹2 crore contribution from the socio-spiritual organisation Satsang.
Dr. Sarma also announced that from August 1, every state minister will visit the flood-ravaged districts after the conclusion of the ongoing Assam Legislative Assembly session.
He said the ministers will assess the extent of the damage on the ground and formulate measures for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the affected areas. The government, he added, is committed to ensuring speedy restoration and long-term rebuilding in the flood-hit districts.------------
