New Delhi, 26 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, highlighted India’s achievements in science, innovation, sports, and national security while paying tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the brave soldiers on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

In the 136th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Modi praised the successful launch of Vikram-1 and appreciated the outstanding performance of Indian students at international science Olympiads. He described the achievements of Indian sportspersons as a source of inspiration for the entire nation. He also highlighted a unique initiative in Kerala that combines Sanskrit education with football.

The Prime Minister said that India is emerging as a global defence partner while moving towards self-reliance in the defence sector. He also appreciated the growing public participation in the ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign aimed at water conservation.

Prime Minister Modi said that herbal tea prepared by women from a self-help group in Uttar Pradesh has become a symbol of self-reliance and empowerment. He further praised the collective efforts and inspiring initiatives undertaken by people across the country for nature conservation and the protection of biodiversity.

Paying homage to the Kargil heroes, the Prime Minister said that the nation remains forever grateful to the brave soldiers whose courage, dedication, and supreme sacrifice safeguarded India’s sovereignty and security.
