Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed happiness over the inclusion of Sarnath in UNESCO’s World Heritage List, describing it as a moment of pride for every Indian.
In a post on X on Saturday, the Prime Minister said that Sarnath shares a profound connection with Lord Buddha and that his timeless message of wisdom, compassion and harmony continues to inspire people across the world even today.
He said that UNESCO’s recognition is a global acknowledgement of India’s rich civilisational and spiritual heritage. The Prime Minister also expressed confidence that the achievement would encourage more people from around the world to visit Sarnath and inspire them to connect with the ideals and teachings of Lord Buddha.
