New Delhi, 25 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday greeted the people of the country on the occasion of Devshayani Ashadhi Ekadashi.

Prime Minister Modi said the auspicious day symbolises the timeless message of devotion and compassion. He prayed that Lord Vitthal’s blessings bring happiness, harmony and prosperity into everyone’s lives and inspire the nation to build a better society. He said Lord Vitthal should grant all people the resolve and strength to serve selflessly and work tirelessly for the welfare and dignity of every individual.

Om Birla said that this divine occasion of faith, penance, restraint and devotion inspires us to move ahead on the path of introspection, service and noble deeds. He prayed that, by the grace of Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, every life be filled with happiness, prosperity, good health, peace and renewed energy, and that the holy period of Chaturmas prove auspicious and beneficial for all.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Lord Vitthal and Mother Rakhumai may fill everyone’s lives with happiness, peace, prosperity and fresh energy.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the blessings of Lord Shri Hari Vishnu may remain upon all. He said the sacred festival should bring happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being to all and inspire everyone to walk on the path of service, compassion and righteousness.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that, by the grace of Lord Vitthal, happiness, prosperity and good health may come into everyone’s life.
