Bhubaneswar, 22 July (H.S.):Rich tributes were paid to noted freedom fighter and social reformer Ramadevi Choudhury on her death anniversary, as Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi offered floral homage at her statue near the Odisha Legislative Assembly premises in Bhubaneswar.

Paying his respects, the Chief Minister recalled Ramadevi’s immense contributions to India’s freedom struggle, social reform, and women’s empowerment. He described her as a symbol of service, sacrifice, and patriotism, whose life continues to inspire generations.

“The ideals and values upheld by Maa Ramadevi guide us in building a strong society and a prosperous nation. It is our collective responsibility to follow her path and work towards inclusive development,” he said.

Several dignitaries and public representatives were present on the occasion, including Speaker Surama Padhy, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, and ministers Suryabanshi Suraj, Padma Charan Nayak, Pradyumna Satpathy, Satyabrata Rout, Dev Prasad Das, and Devyani Bhuyan.

Officials, intellectuals, and social activists also gathered to remember the life and legacy of Ramadevi, offering heartfelt tributes and acknowledging her enduring contribution to society.
