Amravati, 20 July (HS): A woman has lodged a complaint

against the Maharaj of Mutt located in Chandur Railway Tehsil of Amravati

district, about her sexual exploitation when she was a minor and continued it

for years even after her marriage.

In her complaint she has mentioned that she got introduced

to the accused in 2014 in a religious function, when she was minor. In 2016 the

accused called her in his Mutt and against her wishes established physical

relations and threatened her with life. Between 2016 and 2026 she was sexually

exploited assuring marriage with him. Even after her marriage she was

pressurised to seek divorce. Besides sexual exploitation she was also beaten by

him.

According to the victim, the accused was collecting

money from the devotees and used it for his personal purposes. She was also physically

assaulted and thrown out of the Mutt.

Chandur Railway Police Inspector has registered an

offence against the Maharaj and is investigating.
