Bhubaneswar, 20 July (H.S.): The Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against a misleading advertisement that falsely promoted paid VIP darshan of Lord Jagannath at the Jagannath Temple.

In a formal complaint lodged with the Inspector-in-Charge of Singhadwara Police Station, the temple administration categorically clarified that there is no provision for paid VIP darshan within the temple premises.

The complaint specifically refers to a fraudulent advertisement circulated by an entity named ‘eoOdisha’, which promoted a so-called “MyEO Jagannath Dham Concierge Service,” claiming to provide special VIP darshan facilities. The SJTA has termed the advertisement as completely fake and misleading, alleging that it was intended to deceive devotees and the general public.

According to the complaint letter signed by Hemanta Kumar Padhi, Officer on Special Duty (Security), the temple administration reiterated that no such paid services exist and cautioned devotees against falling prey to such false claims.

The SJTA has urged the public to remain vigilant and rely solely on official sources for accurate information regarding darshan and temple services. It also emphasized the importance of verifying any such offers before making payments or commitments.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case based on the complaint and have initiated necessary legal action to investigate the matter and identify those responsible for the fraudulent advertisement.
