
Mau, 20 July (HS): The Madhuban branch of the District
Cooperative Bank Limited, Mau, took an important step towards modern banking on
Monday and started services from its new and grand building. This
state-of-the-art building, constructed near Gupta Gali, was inaugurated by A.K.
Sharma, Minister of Energy and Urban Development of the Government of Uttar
Pradesh, by cutting the ribbon. A large number of public representatives, bank
officials, officials of the Cooperative Department, dignitaries and local
people were present at the inauguration ceremony. While inspecting the new
building during the program, the Minister praised the modern facilities of the
bank and called it an important initiative towards strengthening the rural
banking system.
In his address as the chief guest, Energy and Urban
Development Minister A.K. Sharma said that the District Cooperative Bank
Limited, Mau, has been a strong backbone of the district's rural and
agricultural economy for years. The bank has made significant contributions to
rural development by providing crop loans to farmers, financial assistance to
self-help groups, and easy and accessible loans to small businesses. He noted
that Madhuban is an agricultural region, where paddy, wheat, and vegetables are
cultivated extensively. Therefore, the branch's relocation to a modern building
will prove to be a milestone in providing better, safer, and technologically
advanced banking services to the area's farmers, businesses, and citizens.
Minister A.K. Sharma stated that the motto of cooperatives
is service with all the time, and in this spirit, the government is
equipping cooperative institutions with modern facilities. He added that the
new building has been constructed with customer convenience, security, and
digital banking in mind. Separate help and counseling counters will be
established here for farmers, women, and youth, ensuring each segment receives
better banking services tailored to their needs. He expressed confidence that
this branch will inject new energy into the region's economic development.
Addressing the programme, Chairman of District Cooperative
Bank Limited, Mau, Akhilesh Tiwari said that the bank management is
continuously striving to expand and modernize banking facilities in rural
areas.
Branch Manager Chandrashekhar Yadav said that the bank's
objective is to provide simple, safe, and convenient banking services to
everyone. Whether it's a farmer, a small shopkeeper, or a common consumer,
providing modern banking facilities without any hassle is the bank's priority.
He said that the new building is the result of this vision and commitment to
customer service.
