Guwahati, 20 July (HS): Four members of a family were injured after a massive landslide triggered by incessant rainfall struck a house in Madhavdev Nagar (Goshala area) of Maligaon in Guwahati on Monday.

According to reports, a huge mass of earth from a nearby hill collapsed onto the residence of railway employee Ranjit Das. Local residents responded swiftly and managed to rescue all four family members alive from the debris.

The injured have been identified as Ranjit Das, his wife Sabitri Das, and their son and daughter. The rescue team rushed them to a nearby hospital for treatment. Hospital sources said that the condition of one of the injured is critical. Authorities are monitoring the situation as continuous rainfall continues in the area.-----------
