
Kolkata, 02 July (H.S.) : The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police has arrested an alleged drug trafficker with 102 grams of heroin during an anti-narcotics operation in the Sealdah area of the city.
According to an official statement issued by the STF, the accused has been identified as Tarit Majumdar (52), a resident of Debantpur village under Tehatta Police Station in Nadia district. He was apprehended in the Sealdah area under the jurisdiction of Entally Police Station.
The STF said that during a search operation, officers recovered 102 grams of heroin from the accused's possession. The contraband was seized and the accused was taken into custody.
A case has been registered at the STF Police Station under the relevant provisions of the law.
The investigation is currently underway. Officials are trying to ascertain the source of the seized heroin, its intended destination, and identify other individuals involved in the alleged drug trafficking network.
