
Bhubaneswar, 02 July (H.S.): The Kandhamal district administration has ordered the closure of all schools across the district for students up to Class XII on July 3 in view of persistent rainfall and prevailing adverse weather conditions.
According to an official order issued by the District Collector under Section 30(2)(v) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, regular classes in all government, government-aided and private schools will remain suspended as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students.
The administration clarified that while classroom teaching has been suspended, scheduled examinations and other academic activities will be conducted as planned and will not be postponed due to the weather.
The District Education Officer (DEO) has been directed to ensure strict implementation of the order across all educational institutions in the district.
The district administration has advised parents, students and school authorities to remain vigilant and follow official updates in view of the continuing rainfall.
The decision has been taken as a precaution to safeguard students amid heavy rain and the possibility of weather-related disruptions across Kandhamal district.
