Guwahati, 02 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday met Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh in New Delhi to discuss a roadmap for strengthening the state's fisheries and dairy sectors.

The meeting focused on increasing fish production, promoting exports, improving processing infrastructure and strengthening the value chain. They also discussed enhancing dairy cooperatives, expanding veterinary services, setting up Pashu Aushadhi Kendras, establishing UHT and milk powder plants and improving cattle breeds through artificial insemination.

Both leaders expressed confidence that coordinated efforts by the Centre and the Assam Government would accelerate growth in the fisheries and dairy sectors while creating greater opportunities for farmers and rural livelihoods.-----------
