Lucknow, 19 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath paid tribute to the famous freedom warrior Mangal Pandey on his

birth anniversary (July 19), remembering his role as the flame that sparked the

1857 Indian Rebellion. CM Yogi moved to social media to laud the revolutionary,

emphasizing that Pandey's heroic sacrifice and bold stance against foreign

control offered a new direction for India's independence movement and would

continue to inspire future generations.

In a post on X, UP CM remarked, “On the birth anniversary of

Mangal Pandey, the immortal revolutionary and pioneer of the First Indian War

of Independence, humble tribute. He ignited such a sacred flame of struggle

against foreign rule, which gave a new direction to the freedom movement. His

supreme sacrifice for the motherland will forever continue to inspire the

nation.”
