Tinsukia (Assam), 19 July (HS): One person was killed on the spot while another sustained serious injuries in a tragic road accident that occurred early Sunday morning in the Madhuting area of Duliajan in Assam's Tinsukia district.

According to reports, the accident took place at Patti Line in Madhuting when a bus named Neelkanth, carrying tea garden workers, collided head-on with a motorcycle. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the death of one of the motorcycle riders at the scene, while the other suffered critical injuries and was immediately referred to a hospital for treatment.

Following the accident, the bus driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot. Police reached the scene soon after receiving information and launched an investigation. A search operation is underway to trace the absconding driver.-----------
