NFR to Commission Advanced Signalling System at NJP Yard; Train Services to Be Affected

Guwahati, 19 July (HS): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will commission the Multi Section Digital Axle Counter (MSDAC) at New Jalpaiguri Yard under Katihar Division from July 26 to 28, marking a major step towards modernising railway infrastructure and enhancing operational safety.

The advanced signalling system is expected to improve train detection, increase reliability and ensure smoother movement of trains through one of the busiest railway yards in the region.

To facilitate the commissioning work, several train services will be cancelled, partially cancelled, rescheduled, diverted and regulated during the period.

The New Jalpaiguri–Haldibari–New Jalpaiguri Passenger (55749/55750) will remain cancelled on July 28. The Howrah–New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express (22301) will terminate at Kishanganj, while the New Jalpaiguri–Howrah Vande Bharat Express (22302) will originate from Kishanganj on July 28, resulting in the cancellation of services between Kishanganj and New Jalpaiguri.

Several trains, including the Silchar–New Delhi Express (14037), Guwahati–SMVT Bengaluru Express (12510) and New Alipurduar–Sealdah Express (13142), will depart later than their scheduled timings.

The New Delhi–Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express (20504/12424), Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express (20505/12423) and Agartala–Anand Vihar Tejas Rajdhani Express (20501) commencing journey on July 27 will be diverted via Aluabari Road–Thakurganj–Siliguri–Gulma, bypassing New Jalpaiguri and making a temporary halt at Siliguri Junction.

Additionally, the Barmer–Guwahati Express (15631) commencing journey on July 26 may be delayed by around 60 minutes.

NFR has advised passengers to check the latest train schedules and timings on the IRCTC website and official NF Railway communication channels before commencing their journey.----------
