Lucknow, 19 July (HS): The monsoon session of Parliament is

scheduled to begin on July 20. Regarding this, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)

national president Mayawati has expressed concern that, given the current

situation in the country, the Parliament session will once again be marred by

uproar and adjournments.

The BSP president posted on X on Sunday, “country is

agitated by issues such as rising inflation, poverty, unemployment, women's

insecurity, and paper leaks for important examinations. Widespread public

outrage, particularly over the embezzlement of donations at the Ayodhya Shri

Ram Temple, has shaken Uttar Pradesh and the country. The issue is resonating

from the streets to the courts, and it will undoubtedly become a hot topic in

Parliament, which is also being closely watched. The opposition will also

corner the government on these issues.”

Instead of creating uproar and adjournments in Parliament,

the government should respond to these issues, which are also being keenly

watched by the people. She further stated that the situation following the

general assembly elections in Bengal, the deaths of pregnant women in Rajasthan

due to government negligence, the increasing insecurity of women in various

states, the massive irregularities in the hastily distributed election campaigns,

the notorious corruption in government schemes, the prevalence of police

encounters, the demolition of colonies of people settled there for years, etc.,

have eroded the Constitution's public welfare system, and the ongoing US-Israel

war against Iran, which is severely affecting India's economy and people's

lives, and the devaluation of the rupee, are such significant issues of

national and public interest.

Both the ruling party and the opposition must abandon

political hatred, self-interest, narrow-mindedness, and animosity, and work

together to find a solution and do commendable work. Otherwise, the lives of

the Bahujans in our country, with a population of approximately 1.4 billion,

will become even direr, leaving their future hanging in the balance, as is

feared. Therefore, keeping in mind these grave challenges plaguing the country

and the warnings against them, it should be ensured that the monsoon session of

Parliament runs smoothly, peacefully, and in accordance with healthy democratic

traditions, without any provocation, anger, or hostility. This, in keeping with

the urgent need of the hour, also becomes everyone's responsibility.

The BSP chief said that in this regard, all institutions

must strive to ensure that the burdens and daily troubles of Indians, already

suffering from the country's difficult social, political, and economic

conditions, do not increase. In this regard, Parliament must be fully serious

and sensitive about these pressing national issues, and it would be best if

this began with the current monsoon session. Effective Parliament is essential

for public-friendly good governance.
