Jalaun, 19 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Water Power Minister

Swatantradev Singh visited Chamari village in the Kalpi region of Jalaun

district on Sunday to participate in the Jal Arpan Diwas celebrations. He

greeted the villagers from the stage and dedicated the completed drinking water

project under the Jal Jeevan Mission, offering water. Anurag Shrivastava,

Additional Chief Secretary (Water Power), was also present at the event.

It should be noted that a large number of villagers, public

representatives, and administrative officials were present at the ceremony held

in Chamari village. During the event, Water Power Minister Swatantradev Singh

formally inaugurated the scheme to provide pure drinking water to every

household in the village by offering water. He also presented this important

project to the villagers.

In his address, Minister Swatantradev Singh stated that the

objective of the Jal Jeevan Mission is to provide safe and clean drinking water

to every rural household. The state government is working rapidly in this

direction, and the goal of providing tap water to every village is being

achieved as a priority. He stated that the availability of clean drinking water

will improve the health of villagers and relieve women from the hassle of

fetching water. The Minister also urged villagers to conserve water. He stated

that water is a precious gift of nature and it is every citizen's

responsibility to protect it. Rainwater harvesting, conservation of water

sources, and judicious use of water are the needs of the hour.

Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Shrivastava, who was also

present at the event, provided information about the Jal Jeevan Mission's work,

stating that the government's priority is to provide quality drinking water to

every rural household. He directed the concerned officials to pay special

attention to the operation and maintenance of the schemes, so that people

continue to receive uninterrupted water supply. During the ceremony, public

representatives and officials also made the villagers pledge to conserve water.

At the end of the program, the Minister inquired about the progress of the

schemes from officials of various departments and gave instructions to ensure

quality work.
