Guwahati, 19 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday announced that the state government has approved a milk chilling centre in Biswanath as part of its efforts to strengthen Assam's dairy sector.

In a social media post, the Chief Minister said the new facility will provide farmers and dairy producers with modern milk storage infrastructure, ensuring better preservation, fair prices for their produce and smoother access to markets.

He expressed confidence that the initiative would help increase milk production while giving a significant boost to the rural economy by improving opportunities for dairy farmers across the region.------------
