New Delhi, 15 July (H.S.):

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared a Subhashitam (Sanskrit aphorism) on X, highlighting the importance of knowledge, skill and good health. He said that knowledge leads to wisdom, skill drives development, and good health enables every resolve to be fulfilled. He added that India's youth are embracing these very qualities and strengthening the nation's identity.

Sharing the Subhashitam on X, the Prime Minister wrote:

Dhanyānām uttamaṁ dākṣyaṁ, dhanānām uttamaṁ śrutam;

Lābhānāṁ śreya ārogyaṁ, sukhānāṁ tuṣṭir uttamā.

The verse is taken from the Yaksha–Yudhishthira dialogue in the Mahabharata.

Its meaning is:

Among all noble qualities, skill is the finest.Among all forms of wealth, knowledge is the greatest treasure.Among all gains, good health is the greatest blessing.Among all forms of happiness, contentment is the highest.
