New Delhi, 15 July (H.S.): The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) and the Uttar Pradesh Promote Pharma Council (UPPPC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote quality, innovation, and regulatory excellence in the healthcare sector. The strategic partnership aims to strengthen quality standards in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, enhance regulatory compliance, and foster innovation and capacity building.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will jointly work to reinforce quality standards and regulatory compliance across the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. They will also promote awareness about the Indian Pharmacopoeia, pharmacovigilance (monitoring adverse effects of medicines), and materiovigilance (monitoring the safety of medical devices).
In addition, the partners will organise joint training programmes, workshops, and awareness campaigns for stakeholders. The collaboration will encourage research and innovation by strengthening partnerships between industry and academic institutions. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will be provided with modern tools for the digital reporting of adverse events, while patient safety will be further strengthened through robust quality assurance measures and post-market surveillance of healthcare products.
The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission said on Wednesday that the partnership marks a significant step towards promoting high-quality healthcare services, supporting innovation, and strengthening India's regulatory framework. It is aimed at helping establish Uttar Pradesh as a leading hub for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare technology.
