Amaravati, July 12 (HS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday reviewed the situation arising from the tourist boat tragedy in Vietnam and directed officials to ensure the safe return of survivors and the early repatriation of the mortal remains of those who lost their lives.

During the review, officials informed the Chief Minister that Gelle Kishore, who was injured in the accident, is undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Vietnam.

They also said the Indian Embassy in Vietnam has appointed an agency to facilitate the transportation of the bodies of the deceased and that the process of handing over and repatriating the mortal remains has already begun.

Officials further informed the Chief Minister that arrangements had been made for the survivors to return to India on Monday. The flight tickets for the survivors have been arranged by the concerned mobile service provider.

CM Naidu directed officials at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan to extend all necessary assistance to the affected families until the survivors safely return home and the transportation of the mortal remains is completed.

He also instructed officials to maintain close coordination with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam to ensure the repatriation process is completed smoothly and without delay.
