Guwahati, 11 July (HS): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) unloaded 1,025 freight rakes in June 2026, maintaining strong freight operations across the region. The consignments included food grains, fertilizers, coal, sugar, salt and other essential and industrial commodities.

Assam recorded the highest unloading with 589 rakes, followed by West Bengal (184), Bihar (129), Tripura (68), Nagaland (22), Manipur (20), Arunachal Pradesh (8) and Mizoram (5). NFR CPRO Kapinjal Kishor Sharma said, the efficient handling of freight has helped ensure timely supply of essential goods while strengthening regional trade and economic activities.----------
