Imphal, 11 July (HS): Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday said the government is committed to ensuring justice in the Leilon Vaiphei abduction case, adding that two of the five suspects identified by the victims' families have been arrested.

The Chief Minister said the arrests were made based on inputs provided by the affected families, while directions have been issued to security agencies to apprehend the remaining accused at the earliest.

Referring to the May 13 incident, Singh said three pastors were killed in an ambush, after which 18 people were allegedly detained by suspected Kuki militants. Twelve were later released, while six were abducted. The CM was talking to media persons after attending a program.

Earlier in the day, Singh launched the 'Uningthou Uyok' plantation drive in Imphal, planted a sapling and reviewed infrastructure at Olympian Park, directing officials to restore the park for reopening to the public soon.----------
