Guwahati, 11 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday reviewed the progress of the new Assam Police Reserve infrastructure project under construction at Paltan Bazar in Guwahati.

The Chief Minister said the Assam Police has been working tirelessly round the clock to ensure the safety, peace and maintenance of law and order across the state. He added that improving the working conditions, housing facilities and overall quality of life of police personnel and their families remains a key priority of the state government.

Being developed at an estimated cost of ₹606 crore, the modern police reserve will provide residential accommodation for more than 600 police inspectors, sub-inspectors and personnel. The complex will also include a school, temple, Namghar and sports facilities.

Dr. Sarma further stated that a separate residential building for 42 police officers is also under construction at Panbazar. The government expects the ambitious project to be completed by December 2026 or January 2027.----------
