environmental guardians
'Every child will now have plant in their hand along with
books': Minister Sandeep Singh gives mantra of 'Bal Van Mission'
Fruit trees given priority. Eco clubs, Scouts and Guides,
NCC, NSS, and parents will form 'Green Brigade'.
Lucknow, 07 July (HS): At the call of Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, the Basic Education Department will transform the state's council
schools into green schools by planting 12.43 lakh saplings in the
historic Vriksharopan Mahayagna-2026 to be held on July 12. In this
green campaign of the Yogi government, more than 1 crore children, lakhs of
teachers and parents will join together to further strengthen the foundation of
a green Uttar Pradesh.
Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge)
Sandeep Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,
Uttar Pradesh has integrated education and the environment. Our goal is that
every child should now have a plant in their hands along with books. When a
child plants a tree with their own hands and waters it, they will become not
just a student but an environmental friend. This is the Yogi government's 'Bal
Van Mission.'
Minister Singh stated that this time, fruit-bearing, shady,
and medicinal plants such as mango, guava, blackberries, amla, jackfruit,
drumstick, neem, and peepal will be prioritized for tree planting. Fruit
trees will provide nutrition to children and protect the environment. The
school's kitchen garden, playground, boundary wall, and every vacant space will
now be lush with greenery.
Hundred percent participation of students will be ensured in
tree plantation. For this, special responsibility will be given to the children
of Eco Club, Scouts and Guides, NCC, NSS formed in the schools. “These children
are our 'Green Brigade', under their leadership, an atmosphere like tree
plantation festival will be created in every school. Teacher-parent meetings
should be made 'Green Chaupal'. Parents should be encouraged to plant trees at
home with their children. “When the message emanating from the school reaches
home, only then will tree plantation become a mass movement. This is Yogi ji's
thinking.” Calling all the District Basic Education Officers and Divisional
Joint Education Directors as 'Green Commanders', he directed them to complete
the target of planting 12.43 lakh saplings on time.
