
Prayagraj, 10 July (HS): Dr. Shivam Sharma has assumed the
charge of Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) for North Central Railway. He
took over this role following the promotion of the outgoing CPRO, Shashikant
Tripathi, to the position of Chief Traffic Planning Manager, North Central
Railway. Prior to this, Dr. Sharma served as the Senior Divisional Operations
Manager in the Prayagraj Division. Notably, this marks his second stint as
CPRO; he previously held this responsibility during the 2021-22 period.
Dr. Shivam Sharma has previously served in key positions
such as Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Deputy Chief Commercial
Manager/Claims and Divisional Traffic Manager (Tundla), gaining extensive
administrative experience. As Deputy Chief Claims Officer, he played a pivotal
role in establishing a bench of the Railway Claims Tribunal in Prayagraj; he
was honored by the Chairperson of the Tribunal's Principal Bench for this
contribution.
Additionally, he served as a Director at the Sports
Authority of India (SAI) on deputation. During his tenure of nearly three
years, he worked as the Director of the Netaji Subhas National Institute of
Sports (NSNIS) in Patiala and was subsequently promoted to Regional Director of
the Northern Regional Centre in Sonepat. During this period, he successfully
implemented several significant schemes for sports development in Haryana. Dr.
Sharma was also part of the official Indian delegation during the 2024 Paris
Olympics. Dr. Shivam Sharma is an officer of the 2011 batch of the Indian
Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) and holds a Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery
from Aligarh Muslim University. He is regarded as one of the energetic and
dynamic officers of North Central Railway.
