
Nagpur, 10 July (HS): Maharashtra ATS
(Anti-Terrorist Squad) arrested ten suspects from the Vidarbha region. The ATS
besides raids carried out in Mumbai, Thane, Satara, Sangli and Chhatrapati
Sambhajinagar, and Nagpur, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia and Wardha in the
Vidarbha region.
The state-wide raids were carried out to detect
people connected to Pakistani gangster and ISI handler Shahzad Bhatti through
social media. The ATS arrested four suspects from Nagpur, three from
Chandrapur, and one each from Gadchiroli, Gondia and Wardha. Their phones were
seized and details from their Instagram chat, Call Detail Record (CDT) and
other digital record is being examined. Shahzad Bhatti was issuing instructions
to target important personalities and places.
Police has not registered any offence against the
suspects. However, investigation is being carried out from all angles for
ensuring national security.
Police suspect that Bhatti has planned major
terrorist attacks in various parts of Maharashtra and other states.
