Bhubaneswar, 01 July (H.S.): The Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) will complete the recruitment examination for Sub-Inspector (SI) posts by October this year, OUSSSC Chairman Rashmi Ranjan Swain announced on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference, Swain said the State Government has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure the recruitment process is conducted in a fair, transparent, and error-free manner. The assurance comes after the previous SI recruitment examination was cancelled following allegations of a question paper leak.
He stated that candidates who were unable to appear for the earlier examination due to its cancellation will be eligible to participate in the fresh recruitment process. Additionally, aspirants who have crossed the prescribed upper age limit during the intervening period will also be permitted to appear for the examination, ensuring that no candidate is adversely affected by the delay.
Swain clarified that there will be no change in the number of eligible applicants. He further confirmed that the examination pattern, syllabus, and selection procedure will remain unchanged.
The government is committed to conducting a fair, transparent, and error-free examination. All necessary safeguards have been put in place to ensure that the recruitment process is completed without any irregularities, Swain said.
The earlier SI recruitment examination was cancelled in late 2025 after allegations of a question paper leak emerged, prompting the State Government to order a fresh examination.
With the OUSSSC setting an October deadline for completing the recruitment process, thousands of aspirants are expected to benefit from the assurance of enhanced security measures and strengthened monitoring mechanisms to ensure the integrity of the examination.
