New Delhi, 01 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings to the country's Chartered Accountant (CA) fraternity on the occasion of Chartered Accountants' Day, acknowledging their vital contribution to India's economic growth, financial transparency, and business ecosystem.

In a message marking the occasion, the Prime Minister described Chartered Accountants as trusted partners in India's development journey, saying their professionalism and commitment have played a crucial role in strengthening the nation's financial framework.

PM Modi said the CA community has consistently upheld the highest standards of transparency and professional excellence, helping reinforce confidence in India's financial systems. He noted that their expertise supports businesses, promotes entrepreneurship, and inspires trust among investors, making them key contributors to the country's economic progress.

The Prime Minister said Chartered Accountants have made significant contributions to nation-building by ensuring sound financial governance, improving compliance, and fostering a business environment that encourages innovation and sustainable growth.

Highlighting India's long-term development vision, PM Modi said the role of Chartered Accountants will become even more important as the country moves towards the goal of becoming a developed nation, or Viksit Bharat. He added that their continued efforts are helping create an ecosystem where enterprises can flourish and opportunities can expand across sectors.

Chartered Accountants' Day is observed in India every year on July 1 to commemorate the establishment of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 1949 under an Act of Parliament. The day recognises the contribution of Chartered Accountants to the country's financial stability, corporate governance, taxation, auditing, and overall economic development.
