Sangrur, 01 July (H.S.):
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday completed his own enumeration under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the electoral rolls and appealed to all eligible voters to participate in the verification process. He also asserted that the Punjab Government would not allow any genuine voter to be removed from the electoral rolls during the ongoing revision exercise.
Addressing the media after completing the process, the Chief Minister said that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been carrying out door-to-door verification and revision of electoral rolls across the state from June 25 to July 24. He informed that nearly 90% of electoral roll mapping has already been completed in Punjab, while the remaining work is progressing at a rapid pace.
Mann congratulated the BLOs and Election Commission staff for their dedicated efforts, saying their hard work had made the achievement possible. He explained that BLOs are visiting every household, providing Enumeration Forms, and assisting voters in filling them out. No additional documents are being collected, as only verification of existing voter details is required.
The Chief Minister said that if a house is found locked, the BLO will leave an information slip and sticker and make at least three visits to collect the completed form.
He urged voters to submit their Enumeration Forms on time, stating that only those who complete the process will have their names included in the Draft Electoral Roll, scheduled for publication on August 3. Those who fail to submit the form will be verified through local enquiries and may be classified as absent, shifted, deceased or duplicate, if applicable.
Mann further said that voters who miss the initial deadline can file claims between August 3 and September 2 using Form-6 along with the Declaration Form. The Final Electoral Roll will be published on October 1, 2026.
Reaffirming his government's commitment, Mann said every eligible voter's democratic right would be protected and appealed to citizens to actively participate in the SIR-2026 exercise to strengthen democracy in Punjab.
