
Kolhapur, 05 June (HS): Maharashtra has achieved a distinguished national
record by installing 10 lakh solar agricultural pumps. Out of the total solar
pumps in the country 64 per cent are operational in Maharashtra. This was
possible through MP Kusum-B and Magel Tyala Saur Pump missions. Maharashtra
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has congratulated all those who have contributed
in achieving this target.
Out of
the 15,62,289 solar pumps operational on the country, Maharashtra only has
10,00,472 pumps (64%). Following Maharashtra, Haryana 1.90 lakh, Rajasthan – 1.27
lakh, Uttar Pradesh – 71,538, Jharkhand – 61,452, Gujarat – 21,894 solar pumps made
operational.
Maharashtra
under Magel Tyala Saur Pump (Those who Demand will get it), 45,911 pumps were
made operational in one months, which is a sort of record. The Guinness Book of
World Record registered the record in December 2025.
The 3, 5,
7.5 HP solar pumps for agriculture purpose is given for 10 per cent
contribution from the beneficiary. The contribution is 5 per cent for SC/ST
farmers. The solar panels generate solar energy for 25 years through which
besides irrigation, mobile charging, and E-Vehicles and other equipment can be
charged. The solar pumps are provided five years warrant, during which the
maintenance is the supplier’s responsibility. Instrance against thief and
damage due to natural calamity is also offered.
