Lankamura (Tripura), 05 June (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday paid heartfelt tributes to the second Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar, on his death anniversary while addressing Border Security Force personnel at the Lankamura border outpost in Tripura.

Beginning his speech with homage to Guruji, Shah said that Golwalkar had provided a strong ideological foundation to cultural nationalism and established service to society as one of the most powerful forces in nation-building. He noted that under Guruji’s leadership, the RSS inspired widespread public awakening and elevated national consciousness across various spheres of public life.

The Home Minister described Guruji’s life as a remarkable example of dedication to social harmony, national unity and self-respect. He observed that although many BSF personnel and young volunteers of today may not have had the opportunity to see Guruji personally, his ideas on self-reliance, cultural identity and national resurgence would continue to inspire generations to work in the interest of the country.

Shah also elaborated on Guruji’s contribution towards preserving India’s cultural unity and integrity, as well as his role in shaping generations of dedicated workers committed to national service.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Home Minister planted an agar sapling at the BSF border outpost. Emphasising environmental conservation, he said that protecting trees is a collective responsibility and that India’s Central Armed Police Forces have emerged as “warriors of the environment” through their sustained efforts to safeguard nature.

Highlighting the achievements of the forces, Shah stated that over the past six years they have planted more than 75 million saplings and ensured their healthy growth through continuous care and monitoring. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to environmental protection, he said India remains dedicated to building a greener, safer and healthier future for coming generations.-----------
