New Delhi, 05 June (H.S.):
Australian hyperscale data‑centre company AirTrunk has announced plans to invest roughly ₹3 lakh crore in India and develop 5 gigawatts of data‑centre capacity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared photographs on the social media platform X of his meeting on Friday with AirTrunk’s founder and chief executive officer, saying India’s digital‑infrastructure journey is progressing rapidly. AirTrunk’s planned investment and 5 GW capacity would rank among the largest proposed investments in the country’s digital‑infrastructure sector.
He said the investment will strengthen India’s global standing in cloud computing and artificial intelligence, create large‑scale employment, boost local supply chains and accelerate innovation‑led growth.
PM Modi added that India is emerging as a major hub of the global digital economy, and it is clear that the future of the global digital economy is increasingly taking shape in India.
