NEW DELHI, June 4 (H.S.): The Reserve Bank of India (Reserve Bank of India) will announce the outcome of its June Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on Friday at 10:00 a.m., Governor Sanjay Malhotra said.
However, expectations suggest that the central bank is unlikely to change the policy repo rate this time as well.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the RBI said it is fully prepared to announce the outcome of its three-day monetary policy review meeting. The six-member MPC, chaired by Governor Sanjay Malhotra, has been reviewing key macroeconomic indicators since June 3 amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, currency pressures, fuel supply concerns, interest rate trends, inflation outlook, and growth projections.
According to the RBI, the June MPC meeting is being held over three days from June 3 to June 5. The Governor will announce the policy decision at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, followed by a press conference at 12:00 noon.
The central bank also stated that the monetary policy statement and the post-policy press conference will be live-streamed, with access provided through its official broadcast link.
It is noteworthy that in its April MPC meeting, the RBI had unanimously maintained a neutral policy stance and kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent.
