New Delhi, 30 June (H.S.): Twenty-three constituent parties of the opposition INDIA bloc, along with one Independent Member of Parliament, have sent a joint letter to Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant, raising concerns over the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and other election-related issues.

Congress General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh said in a post on X on Tuesday that 21 political parties and one Independent MP had participated in the INDIA bloc meeting held on June 8. During the meeting, it was decided that a joint representation would be sent to the Chief Justice of India regarding the Election Commission's SIR exercise and issues concerning electoral transparency.

Ramesh said the letter has now been submitted with the signatures of 23 political parties and one Independent Member of Parliament.

He said the opposition parties remain firmly committed to solidarity, unity, and collective resistance. According to Ramesh, the joint letter represents a shared initiative by the opposition to strengthen the democratic process and ensure greater transparency in the electoral system.
