Kolkata, 03 June (H.S.) : In a major organisational overhaul amid ongoing political turbulence, the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Wednesday announced the dissolution of all its committees and frontal organisations in West Bengal with immediate effect.

The decision was conveyed through an official party statement and comes at a time when the party is facing growing internal challenges. The move follows reports that 58 TMC MLAs had submitted a signed letter to the Speaker of the West Bengal Assembly seeking the appointment of Ritabrata Banerjee as the Leader of the Opposition, triggering intense political discussions over dissent and factionalism within the party.

In its statement, the TMC said that all committees of the party in West Bengal, along with all its frontal organisations, stand dissolved with immediate effect. The party also announced the launch of a comprehensive exercise of introspection, performance review and organisational assessment at every level.

According to the statement, the findings of this review process will form the basis for restructuring the party’s organisational framework. The parent body as well as all frontal organisations will be reconstituted, and the new organisational structure will be announced in due course.

The party reiterated its commitment to strengthening its organisation and preparing it to face future political challenges with renewed purpose and energy.

Political observers view the decision as a significant step toward reasserting organisational discipline and recalibrating the party’s internal power structure. The development comes in the backdrop of the recent signature controversy, uncertainty over the Leader of the Opposition issue, and visible dissatisfaction among a section of party legislators.

Attention is now focused on the outcome of the review process and the composition of the restructured organisation, which is expected to determine the future leadership and direction of the party in West Bengal.
