Bhubaneswar, 03 June (H.S.): Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Wednesday assured that all school students across the state will receive their textbooks before the summer vacation, despite delays caused by printing-related issues.
Addressing concerns over the slow distribution of textbooks for the current academic session, the minister said that nearly 90 per cent of the textbooks have already been printed and distributed to students, while the remaining books will be delivered before the commencement of the summer break.
Gond acknowledged that technical difficulties at certain printing units had affected the pace of printing and subsequent distribution, leading to delays in the supply of some textbooks.
“Approximately 90 per cent of the textbooks have already been printed and most of them have reached students. Only a small portion remains to be distributed. We will ensure that all the remaining textbooks are delivered before the summer vacation. There will be no further delay,” the minister said.
He added that the School and Mass Education Department is closely monitoring the printing and distribution process and has put in place necessary measures to expedite the delivery of the remaining textbooks.
The minister further assured that the government is committed to ensuring that students do not face any disruption in their studies due to the delay. Necessary steps are being taken to streamline the supply chain and complete the distribution process at the earliest, he said.
The assurance comes amid reports that students in some parts of the state are yet to receive a complete set of textbooks for the ongoing academic year. The government, however, maintains that all pending deliveries will be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Officials said efforts are underway to address logistical challenges and ensure that every student receives the required textbooks well before the summer vacation begins.
