
Guwahati, 03 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday paid heartfelt tributes to eminent Assamese litterateur Dr. Lakshmi Nandan Bora on his death anniversary, remembering him as one of the brightest stars in the literary landscape of Assam.
In a message shared on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Bora enriched Assamese literature through his creative genius and research-based literary contributions. Beginning his literary journey with the acclaimed short story Bhaona, he went on to produce numerous invaluable works that left a lasting impact on readers and significantly strengthened Assamese literary heritage.
Dr. Sarma noted that the celebrated writer masterfully portrayed society, human struggles, values, and the changing spirit of the times through his writings. He added that Dr. Bora’s literary works, thoughts, and ideals would continue to serve as a timeless source of inspiration for future generations.
The Chief Minister also recalled that Dr. Bora, a recipient of the prestigious Saraswati Samman, remains a towering figure in Assamese literature whose legacy will endure for years to come. He offered his respectful homage and prayers in memory of the distinguished author on his sacred Punyatithi.----------
