Dhubri (Assam), 28 June (HS): Assam Cabinet Minister and Dhubri district's Guardian Minister Ashok Singhal on Sunday inaugurated the statewide Pulse Polio campaign from Dhubri Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on the occasion of National Immunization Day.

Addressing the gathering, Singhal said nearly 52,000 healthcare workers have been deployed at around 24,000 vaccination centres across the state to administer polio drops to children. He added that the extensive drive aims to ensure every eligible child is protected against the disease.

The minister stated that the dedicated efforts of frontline health workers have helped bring nearly 95% of mothers and children in Assam under the immunization programme. He also highlighted that over 99% of the state's vaccination management system has been digitised, making vaccine delivery more efficient and transparent.

Reaffirming the government's commitment to child healthcare, Singhal said Assam is focused on protecting every child from vaccine-preventable diseases. He credited the state's progress in the health sector to the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and said the government would continue strengthening healthcare services across Assam.

The programme was attended by Dhubri Health Department Joint Director Dr. Jyoti Kumar Das, Dhubri Medical College and Hospital Principal Dr. Ankumani Saikia and other senior officials of the Health Department.-------------
