
NEW DELHI,26 June (HS): Delhi's Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood on Friday visited the Ghazipur landfill site to inspect the progress of waste management and landfill reclamation works. He assessed the pace of the ongoing operations and emphasised the need to complete the projects in a timely and efficient manner to achieve effective waste management.
During the visit, Minister Ashish Sood reviewed the status of the project at the Ghazipur landfill site. Additional Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Leela Dhar Meghwal, along with other senior civic officials, was present during the inspection.
Notably, work is progressing rapidly to eliminate the mountains of legacy waste at the Okhla, Bhalswa and Ghazipur landfill sites in Delhi and reclaim the land for productive use. Out of the total 202 acres earmarked for reclamation, 75 acres have already been successfully reclaimed.
