Guwahati, 26 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said the state's annual capital expenditure has increased 13-fold over the past decade, attributing the growth to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a post on social media, the Chief Minister stated that Assam's annual capital expenditure stood at ₹2,000 crore in the 2014-15 financial year and has risen to ₹26,000 crore in 2025-26.

Sarma said the unprecedented increase in capital investment has accelerated the state's infrastructure development, strengthened economic growth and created new opportunities across Assam. He added that a developed Assam would serve as a strong foundation for the vision of a developed India under the leadership of the Prime Minister.-----------
