New Delhi, 23 June (H.S.): Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and several other prominent leaders on Tuesday paid tributes to Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder and eminent educationist Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his martyrdom day, recalling his enduring contribution to India's unity and integrity.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan described Dr. Mookerjee as a visionary leader, distinguished educationist, and steadfast patriot. He said Dr. Mookerjee's supreme sacrifice for India's unity and integrity, along with his unwavering commitment to building a developed India, would continue to inspire future generations.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said Dr. Mookerjee always placed India's unity, integrity, and sovereignty above everything else and never compromised on his principles. He dedicated his entire life to promoting patriotism, cultural consciousness, and national integration.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah described Dr. Mookerjee as a staunch champion of the nation's unity and integrity. He said Dr. Mookerjee strongly opposed the system of two constitutions, two prime ministers, and two flags in Jammu and Kashmir and also fought to ensure that Bengal remained an integral part of India. Shah said Dr. Mookerjee's resolve to put the nation first continues to inspire the country.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Dr. Mookerjee made an unforgettable contribution to preserving national unity, cultural identity, and democratic values. He added that Dr. Mookerjee's courage, determination, and sacrifice continue to inspire millions of Indians.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said Dr. Mookerjee gave up power and dedicated everything for the unity and integrity of the nation, a sacrifice that India will always remember.

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda said Dr. Mookerjee's life was a living example of patriotism, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve. He added that the ideological journey from the Bharatiya Jana Sangh to today's Bharatiya Janata Party reflects Dr. Mookerjee's vision of cultural nationalism.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remembered Dr. Mookerjee as the leader who proclaimed, One nation cannot have two constitutions, two prime ministers, and two flags. He said Dr. Mookerjee's supreme sacrifice for India's unity and integrity would continue to kindle the spirit of nationalism in every citizen.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said Dr. Mookerjee's contribution and unwavering commitment to the nation's unity, integrity, and self-respect continue to serve as a source of inspiration for the people of the country.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said Dr. Mookerjee's life was an inspiring example of patriotism, indomitable courage, and dedication to an undivided India. He added that Dr. Mookerjee's thoughts and ideals would continue to guide the nation in building a developed, strong, and self-reliant India.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Dr. Mookerjee's steadfast commitment to the principle of Nation First and his dedication to safeguarding India's unity and integrity would continue to inspire generations. He added that the nation would remain indebted to Dr. Mookerjee's contributions for eternity.
