
New Delhi, 23 June (H.S.):
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, following his meeting with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, said that China and India should view their bilateral relationship from a long-term perspective while also promoting cooperation through a broader global outlook. He said both countries should implement the consensus reached by their leaders through concrete actions to accelerate development and national rejuvenation through cooperation, while advancing the modernisation of the Global South.
Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong said in a post on social media platform X that during the meeting, Wang Yi also stressed that both sides should respect each other's core interests and handle sensitive issues appropriately. He emphasised that the boundary issue should not be allowed to define or affect the overall course of bilateral relations.
Wang Yi further said that both countries should actively guide people from all sections of society towards a correct understanding of bilateral ties and strengthen public support and the social foundation for improving relations. Expressing support for India's BRICS presidency, he said China is ready to work with India to advance the development and expansion of the BRICS mechanism.
