Lucknow, 22 June (HS): The Allahabad High Court refused to
give an out-of-turn hearing on a plea demanding an investigation into alleged
irregularities in the handling of offerings at Ayodhya's Ram Temple, citing a
lack of urgency. The Lucknow bench stated that it was already dealing with a
large number of cases and that, because the Uttar Pradesh government has
already taken cognizance of the problem, there was no reason to hear it out of
turn at this time. Mohit Ashok's appeal was one of 529 new cases heard by the
Lucknow bench on Monday, with serial number 392. A vacation bench of Justice
Pankaj Bhatia and Justice Amitabh Kumar Rai dismissed the plea for an early
hearing.
Ashok has petitioned for an independent investigation into
alleged misappropriation of funds received as offerings at the Ram Temple, as
well as an audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. The petition
alleges financial irregularities in the handling of donations made by devotees
and seeks judicial intervention to ensure transparency and accountability in
temple fund management.
