Lucknow, 21 June (HS): On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day,

extensive yoga programs were organized in council schools, block resource

centers, district headquarters, and educational institutions across Uttar

Pradesh. Students, teachers, staff, and officials participated

enthusiastically, emphasizing yoga as the foundation for a healthy, balanced,

and positive life.

A mass yoga program was organized at the new campus of the State Council of

Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership

of Director Ganesh Kumar. During the program, officials, teachers, and staff

participated in yoga and pledged to practice yoga regularly.

Director Ganesh Kumar stated that yoga is an invaluable asset of India's

ancient knowledge tradition. It is not only a means of physical health, but

also a powerful tool for developing mental concentration, self-discipline, and

a positive outlook on life. By promoting yoga at the school level, we are

taking important steps toward fostering a healthy lifestyle, self-confidence,

and a balanced personality in children. Special programs were organized across

the state on Yoga Day.

Children and teachers at the Primary School Behta BKT in

Lucknow, the Composite School Parthala Khanjarpur in Gautam Buddha Nagar, and

the Primary School Lalkipurwa in Kanpur practiced various yoga asanas and

pranayama. Principals and teachers explained the benefits of yoga to students

and encouraged them to practice regularly.

At the Upper Primary School, Bawa, Amaniganj, Ayodhya, students practiced

various yoga postures, including Shirshasana, Dhanurasana, Bakasana, Tadasana,

and Vajrasana. Yoga Day events were also held enthusiastically in Varanasi and

Mathura.

Yoga Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in all the schools, block resource

centers and district headquarters of Basti district. Students were made aware

of the importance of yoga and urged to make it a part of their daily lives.

Teachers of the Basic Education Department actively participated in the mass

yoga practice program organized at Kailash Prakash Stadium in Meerut. Students

and teachers in various primary schools of Azamgarh practiced yoga and gave the

message of healthy living and understood the role of yoga in discipline,

concentration and positive daily routine.
